Why a companion CD-ROM?

As you look through this copy of PC Intern, you'll quickly notice that it
includes dozens of assembly language, BASIC, the C language and Pascal
programs and routines. However, it would take the average user weeks to
type in the listings accurately (there is over three megabytes' worth of
program listings in this book).

The companion CD-ROM saves you time because now you won't have to type
in the dozens of program listings we talk about in PC Intern. The program
listings include the actual source codes in QuickBASIC, Turbo Pascal,
assembly language, and C (almost all the C source codes are compatible
from Turbo C++ and Microsoft C 6.00). For those BASIC, Pascal, and C codes
that require separate assembly language modules, the companion CD-ROM has
assembler source code and assembled object code for easy compilation.

The program files on this companion CD-ROM demonstrate general interrupt
calls, video card access, keyboard operation, disk drive access, parallel
port control, mouse support, joystick, support, extended and expanded
memory, COM and EXE files, networking, sound, TSRs, and much more.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not include Microsoft QuickBASIC, the Microsoft Macro
Assembler (MASM), Turbo C++, Microsoft C Version 6.00 with this
book/CD-ROM package. We recommend that you contact Microsoft Corporation
and Borland International for information on purchasing these quality
program development tools.

Installing Acrobat Reader

Follow these steps to install Acrobat Reader 2.0 on your hard drive
(Installation requires approximately 2 Meg of free hard drive space).
